Good News Alert: School Changes Sports Clothing Policy to Accommodate Muslim Student

Did you know that countless Muslim children in Texas decide not to participate in sports because of concerns about sports uniforms. Over the years, CAIR-TX has recieved dozens of calls from concerned parents who say they want their children to play sports but are concerned about uniform requirements. Often, these parents have children who before puberty wear whatever the typical uniform is but during and after puberty they make their children out of sports teams due to uniform requirements. This is especially true for young girl athlets

To play on a team requires students to wear specific uniforms that in some instances may not conform to religiously held sincere beliefs of Muslim students. Some examples are wearing skirts while playing field hockey.
