The Austin chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-TX) is proud to organize the 1st ever "Austin Muslim Culture Fest!" This one-day festival held in the heart of downtown Austin will celebrate the rich diversity of the Austin Muslim community through delicious international food, stunning artwork, and live educational workshops and performances. This event is family-friendly with various kids' activities. The best part is that the festival is free and open to the public, where guests can purchase meals, kids' activities, and other fun items on sale.

I'm Interested in Being a Food, Art, or Other Vendor for the Festival:Are you a Muslim-owned Austin business interested in selling unique food dishes, a local artist who wants to display and sell your masterpieces, or another type of vendor? We would be delighted to have you as a vendor for the program. Art vendors' cost is $50, and food vendors' cost is $300. These costs help us cover the expenses for the festival. 

I'm a Masjid, School, or Other Austin Muslim Non-Profit: The main focus of this festival is to celebrate the rich diversity of the Austin Muslim community. If you're a local Islamic Center, Islamic School, Muslim youth group, a local charity, or other non-profit and would like to set up a table at the festival, we would be delighted to have you there. The cost to have a non-food selling table is only $50, and if you want to sell food at the event, it will be $300.

I'm a Performer, Request to Speak, or Would Like to Hold an Educational Workshop: Are you a Muslim performer that would like to perform your poetry, spoken word, Nasheed (Islamic Themed song), clothing, or other type of performance. Or are you an Imam, Muslim organization spokesperson, and other type of educator that would like to hold an educational workshop at the festival? We are also accepting speakers from the community whether they are local elected officials, interfaith partners, civil rights activities and others. We would love to have you. There is no cost to be a performer or educator.

  1. Is there any cost to enter the festival? No, there is no cost to enter the festival. This program is free and open to the public. Food, art, clothing, and other items
  2. Is Parking Available: Yes, there is on-site parking at the Mexican American Culture center. Plus, there is ample street-metered parking around the festival.
  3. What is the Structure of the Festival: The festival consists of various vendors selling food, clothing, art, and other items. Throughout the day, different educational workshops will be held to educate the public about the Austin Muslim community that will be held in English and Spanish. There will also be performances throughout the day at the festival. These will include poems, spoken word, and other live performances.
  4. Can I Volunteer: Yes, as the date gets closer, a registration link will be available for people to volunteer for the program.
  5. Do I Have to be Muslim to Attend: This event is open to the public, and you do not need to be Muslim to attend. We welcome people of all faiths or no faiths, backgrounds, and ethnicities to attend.
  6. Will, there be Kids Activities: Yes, the festival will include bounce houses, henna, face painting, and other fun activities for children.
